5 WAYS TO TRANSITION FROM WINTER TO SPRING

If your city is anything like mine, we got a little tease of spring last week and are now back to sub-zero winter temperatures yet again.

The battle for me is always figuring out how to get myself back on track to putting some effort into my outfits (because who are we kidding - my go-to "look" during the frosty months is hobo-not-so-chic) but staying warm enough to make it through a possibly colder-than-you-thought (or wished) kind of day.

MARY-KATE & ASHLEY OLSEN

Whether or not you liked them in Full House, MKA always master the comfy/classy combination. Investing in pieces that you can layer on a daily basis like a basic coat in a neutral colour and an oversize scarf will take your look a long way - especially when you add a pair of boots for the final touch.

CHRISSY TEIGEN

Chrissy Teigen looks badass AND warm with this (hopefully) faux fur look. Can't go wrong with distressed denim and leather for a glam touch.

STELLA MCCARTNEY

Can't go wrong with a chunky boot, boyfriend jeans and a cute hat, but leopard print and the mixing of the tones adds a little more interest.

Elizabeth & James Spring 2011 Lookbook

Honestly, I will honestly always attest to being a fan of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Childish straight-to-VHS movies aside, the twins are extremely business-smart and know their fashion. The few pieces of their luxury line Elizabeth & James that have circulated through my store are always well-tailored, made of some gorgeous fabric, and are the perfect mix of classic and trendy.

This season's lookbook is so inspirational for pieces that will take you from the end of spring to the end of fall. Boho is always a highlight with MKA, in their love of flowy fabrics like linen and untouched cotton. But draping and bagginess aside, show off some leg this summer with the Herve Leger-inspired "Celeste" skirt, and the girly "Charlotte" dress, both available in seafoam green, which will go perfect with your mid-July tan.
